Our Stray Dog
Dogtown follows the day-to-day adventures of a little stray dog in a big city. He encounters a variety of personalities from different walks of life, brightening their day like only a dog can or eating some valuable article of clothing - either way we can still laugh at him. The dog doesn't have a name (the neighborhood kids are always arguing over what his name should be), he doesn't wear a collar, but has a community of owners.
Stan
Our little stray dog always finds time in his day to follow Stan. He's probably the dog's favorite person in town. This might be because Stan is a little clumsy about dropping food. Stan is a computer programmer and tends to be very serious and logical. Our little dog likes to remind him that being smart can sometimes mean being silly.
Eric
Stan's best friend is Eric. Eric welcomes the dog's antics more than his bud Stan and sometimes finds ways to use the dog to his advantage. He and the dog can be like two peas in a pod.
Leah
Leah is Eric's girlfriend. She works with Stan and Eric at the little office as a secretary. She has a very strong personality and prides herself on being mature and having good taste. How did she end up with our prankster, Eric? I guess that's life, opposites attract.
The Hotdog Vendor
The Hotdog Vendor is a fun character because he tries so hard to do evil but really isn't hurting anybody - he just thinks he is. He likes to pick on Stan and his friends by messing up their orders on purpose. So why do they come back? Wouldn't you? The hotdog vendor never speaks, I like to think this is because he likes to keep people guessing - you'll never see him without his poker face. When he does communicate, it's through his sale signs, which often use tricky wording to lure Stan into a scam.
Mr. James
Mr. James is Stan's boss. He runs a successful small business (despite having a little dog somehow finding his way into the office on a regular basis). He is a role model for Stan, often taking him under his wing and including him in one of his favorite pastimes, playing chess.
Stan's Dad
Stan's dad is enjoying his retirement. He's usually found near a grill, working in the garden with his wife, or packing for a fishing trip. When our dog stops in for a visit, Stan's dad usually confuses him for some other animal. I can't imagine why, he's clearly a dog ... of some kind.
Joe
Joe is the leader of the neighborhood kids. Joe has a big ego and has a lot of trouble coping with the injustice of being a child. His aspirations are often beyond his age and the comprehension of his schoolyard companions.
The Blues Man
The Blues Man sometimes gets help singing his songs from our little howling white pup. He's a jolly character who's life as a musician gives him a special appreciation for the dog's free roaming lifestyle. He likes to include the dog in his performances when he stops by.
